Jo Priaulx, Co-founder of the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation, which provides accommodation to families in Southampton when children are in hospital after travelling from the islands, praised the volunteers.
“The idea of the memorial bench has been in the works for some time, so this is going to be a big moment for Sarah and her family,” she said.
“Thank you to everyone who has worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life.”
There is a Lego-themed hideaway room at one of the charity’s Southampton flats, also in honour of Matthew.
